When praying be specific: Taking every detail to God in prayer

Good day, beautiful people,
It’s been a minute, but I am back with some more encouragement from a biblical perspective. I hope you and your families are keeping well and are enjoying the summer holiday months. May the good Lord continue to strengthen you all. I pray specifically for parents who have the responsibility of caring for children during this period of no school. May God enable you to manage your time effectively and efficiently.
Today’s write-up has been inspired by the life of King David. David is known to be the man after God’s own heart, and what I realised about David is that whenever he was faced with a decision to make, he would consult the Lord. Even though he was an experienced man of war who fought many battles, he still would check in with the Lord to confirm his next steps of action. He did not let his experience hinder him from consulting his Maker. Pride can be such a stumbling block when it comes to progressing in life because we feel that we have all the knowledge we need to live a life independently of God, when in reality, this is far from the truth.
1 Samuel 23:2 ~ “David asked the Lord, “Should I go and attack them?” “Yes, go and save Keilah,” the Lord told him.”
1 Samuel 23:12 ~ “Again David asked, “Will the leaders of Keilah betray me and my men to Saul?” And the Lord replied, “Yes, they will betray you.”
2 Samuel 5:19 ~ “So David asked the Lord, “Should I go out to fight the Philistines? Will you hand them over to me?” The Lord replied to David, “Yes, go ahead. I will certainly hand them over to you.”
1 Samuel 30:8 ~ “Then David asked the Lord, “Should I chase after this band of raiders? Will I catch them?” And the Lord told him, “Yes, go after them. You will surely recover everything that was taken from you!”
Jesus took the time to ask blind Bartimaeus how He (Jesus) could help him. And Bartimaeus was specific with his response; he wanted to recover his sight. He also acknowledged Christ’s greatness/wisdom by calling Him ‘Rabbi’ and ‘Son of David’ (Mark 10:47). This encourages me to remember that when praying we should come to God knowing who He is. He is faithful and He is good! The God we serve is all-powerful and He sets those who believe free from the power of sin, death (eternal damnation), hell, and the grave.
Mark 10:51 ~ “What do you want me to do for you?” Jesus asked. “My Rabbi,” the blind man said, “I want to see!”
Always remember that there is no detail too small or insignificant for God not to care about. If it bothers you, take it before the Lord in prayer because the Lord reminds us in His word to cast all our cares and burdens before Him because He cares for us .
So, whether it be consulting God regarding where to take your next holiday, what outfit to buy, what investment to make, how to make appropriate adjustments in your diet, or how to be of help to your community, remember that it matters to God. Because in all we do, we should do it for His glory.
Psalm 37:23 ~ “The Lord directs the steps of the godly. He delights in every detail of their lives.”
1 Corinthians 10:31 ~ So whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.
I hope today’s post was a source of encouragement to all those who read. Continue to stay safe.
God bless

Please feel free to contact me via email for encouragement, advise or prayer (I am not a qualified counsellor, or a pastor, but I believe as a young woman I will be able to relate with SOME of the things other women around the world are going through). <<< As of Feb 2019 I completed my Counselling level 3 diploma Praise God 💃🏾. I intend to help others not in my own strength, but with the help of the Holy Spirit. View more posts
