JULY 10- TODAY'S READING FROM THE ONE YEAR BIBLE- 1 CHRONICLES 9:1-10:14; ACTS 27:21-44; PSALM 8:1-9; PROVERBS 18:23-24 - New Life Community Church

1 Chronicles 9 vs 1

So, all Israel were reckoned by genealogies; and, behold, they were written in the book of the kings of Israel and Judah, who were carried away to Babylon for their transgression.

  1. What this verse is saying is that the history of the Israelites was written according to their tribes.
  2. Let us study the last phrase of the verse that says who were carried away to Babylon for their transgression.
  3. Babylon is a land of bondage.
  4. Babylon is a land of oppression.
  5. Babylon is the country of the enemy.
  6. Babylon is the opposite of Canaan, the land flowing with milk and honey.
  7. Babylon is the land of captivity.
  8. Babylon is the land of slavery.
  9. The people of God, the children of Israel were carried to Babylon because of their transgression.
  10. In the book of Exodus, God delivered them from Egypt and took them to Canaan.
  11. But in the book of Chronicles, we read that God allowed them to be carried to Babylon.
  12. Babylon is like Egypt, and their offence was that they refused to obey God.
  13. Any time you disobeyed God; you are at the risk of been carried away to Babylon.
  14. Even in our offices, when we disobey our supervisors, our Job is at risk.
  15. Receive the spirit of obedience and holiness.
  16. I pray today that you shall obey the rules, the commandment, the regulations, the laws of God so that the enemy shall not capture you in Jesus name.

Do You Feel Accepted or Rejected?

I went to bed, pulled the covers over my head, and had a big ole pity party. Once again, I had been rejected…come in second place…told I wasn’t quite what “they” were looking for. The scarlet letter loomed large. It wasn’t an A like Hester Prynne’s in Nathaniel Hawthorne’s book I had read in high school, but a big fat R that I chose to wear when life turned ugly. Read more...

    Sleeping and Waiting

Sleep is crucial to our health. It’s our body’s time to restore itself and make sure we’re ready for the day ahead! Waiting, in a way, is like the “sleep” portion of our faith. While we wait, God works. And imagine all the incredible work He’s doing!
