Hebrews 7 vs 1,2,12

For this Melchisedec, king of Salem, priest of the most high God, who met Abraham returning from the slaughter of the kings, and blessed him; 2 To whom also Abraham gave a tenth part of all; first being by interpretation King of righteousness, and after that also King of Salem, which is, King of peace; 12 For the priesthood being changed, there is made of necessity a change also of the law.

  1. Abraham was the first tither.
  2. He gave a tenth of his possessions to a priest called King Melchisedec.
  3. If you read those verses carefully, you will understand that King Melchisedec was a symbol of Christ.
  4. King Melchisedec was described as a king of peace, and we all know there is only one king of peace: Jesus Christ.
  5. Therefore, Abraham paid tithe to a priest even before the Lord.
  6. There has always been a debate about whether to pay tithe or not, and either tithe has been cancelled in the new testament.
  7. Though, the tithe was a law of the old testament. Tithing started before Mosaic law.
  8. Though it can be argued that every Mosaic law was cancelled when Christ came to the word, we can say that even before Moses was given law, Abraham paid tithe.
  9. If we do not have a problem paying taxes to the government, why should we have a problem contributing to the kingdom of God?
  10. You have many advantages when you pay your tithe.
  11. I pray the Lord gives you the spirit to be a giver to the kingdom of God.
  12. You shall be a blessing unto others in Jesus’ name.
  13. The devourer shall not penetrate your income in Jesus’ name. Amen.

God Is Still Writing Your Story

We are all going to have good chapters and bad chapters. We’re going to have times when we think, I do not like this story and other times we think, I do like this story. The key is to not get stuck in life’s difficult chapters but keep moving to the flow of the Author’s pen. God is still writing your story.Father, some chapters of my story that are so difficult. However, I know You can use all the broken pieces to make a magnificent masterpiece. Help me not get stuck in a bad chapter due to disappointment or discouragement, but to keep moving forward, knowing there is more to be written. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.Where are you right now?
