Requiring You To Follow Their Advice - Divorce Minister
“You need to do this, or you wife will never come back,” says “friend.”
I recently came across a video short on my phone. The speaker talked about how people who insist on you following their advice are not about care. They are about control.
Some of us have had such “helpers” in our lives when things blew up.
They knew best. And they would curse us with their words saying we need to do whatever they told us to do or experience “hell.”
The older I get, the less I tolerate such behavior. Life is too short to keep such people in our lives.
One sad thing about these scenarios is how such “advice” comes from supposed “friends.” Instead of actually caring for us and showing empathy, they feel entitled to tell us how to live our lives. It is SO unhealthy!
This strikes me is very true. It is true because God loves us genuinely. God doesn’t have to meet unmet needs in God’s self either by controlling us. God takes us as we are.
