Let All That I Am Praise The Lord, Amen

Let all that I am praise the Lord. O Lord my God, how great you are! You are robed with honor and majesty. You are dressed in a robe of light. Psalm 104:1-2

The Psalmist declared that the Lord wraps Himself in light like a garment. Light does not simply surround Him; He wears it. This metaphor captures His holiness and brilliance.

When dawn pushes back the darkness each morning, creation whispers a reminder of God’s radiance. Light flows because God commands it.

This Psalm rises like a majestic hymn. As we read it, our thoughts move from earthbound concerns to God’s glory and wisdom. He crafted every corner of creation.

It reveals God’s fingerprints on the mountains, oceans, creatures, winds, and seasons. The Psalmist’s heart responded with a deep cry: “Let all that I am praise the Lord.”

Does God Really Put A High Value On Us?

He calls each believer to recognize God’s intimate involvement in every detail of their life. When you observe nature through this lens, you will say, Let all that I am praise the Lord.

We don’t even get past verse two before we see a description of God stretching out the heavens like a curtain. This picture shows intentionality because nothing exists by accident.

God arranges the sky with purpose and precision. The heavens display His creativity and power. Each cloud reveals His artistry. Each sunrise testifies to His faithfulness.

You stretch out the starry curtain of the heavens; you lay out the rafters of your home in the rain clouds. You make the clouds your chariot; you ride upon the wings of the wind. The winds are your messengers; flames of fire are your servants. Psalm 104:2-4

    Praise The Lord.

    The God Who Establishes Order

The Psalm continues with vivid descriptions. The Psalmist said God set boundaries for the waters. He commands the seas and rivers, and they respond. He establishes mountains and valleys.

    • At your command, the water fled; at the sound of your thunder, it hurried away. Psalm 104:7
    • Then you set a firm boundary for the seas, so they would never again cover the earth. Psalm 104:9
    • You make springs pour water into the ravines, so streams gush down from the mountains. Psalm 104:10

Creation does not operate independently or chaotically. God holds everything in balance. A bird finds a branch because God provides the tree. Wild donkeys drink from God carved out streams.

Grass grows for cattle because God sustains the land. Each detail points to an ordered universe upheld by a wise Creator.

    • They (the streams) provide water for all the animals, and the wild donkeys quench their thirst. Psalm 104:11
    • The birds’ nests are beside the streams, and they sing among the branches of the trees. Psalm 104:12
    • You cause grass to grow for the livestock and plants for people to use. Psalm 104:14

This imagery reminds us that God also establishes order in our lives. His boundaries serve as protection. His timing guides us, and His provision enables us to flourish in the place He assigns.

When life feels unstable, the Psalmist invited us to remember: the God who manages the oceans manages our days. The One who feeds mountain goats notices our needs.

    God’s Provision Reaches All Creation

You allow people to produce food from the earth—wine to make them glad, olive oil to soothe their skin, and bread to give them strength. Psalm 104:14-15

The Psalmist saw everything as a gift from the Creator’s hand. Trees thrive because God waters them. Animals roam hillsides because He provides habitat.

Even the cycles of day and night reflect God’s intentional care. Night gives animals space to roam. Morning summons people to work. Seasons and rhythms allow creation to flourish.

You made the moon to mark the seasons, and the sun knows when to set. You send the darkness, and it becomes night, when all the forest animals prowl about. Psalm 104:19-20

We believers must allow this truth to reshape our gratitude. Everyday blessings—food, shelter, rest, strength, relationships—flow from God who built mountains and formed moonlit skies.

When we pause to recognize His provision, it will cultivate humility and adoration in us. Praise rises not from obligation but from awe that says, Let all that I am praise the Lord.

O Lord, what a variety of things you have made! In wisdom you have made them all. The earth is full of your creatures. Here is the ocean, vast and wide, teeming with life of every kind, both large and small. Psalm 104:24-25

In this section, the Psalmist described how every creature looks to God for food and life. They wait for His hand. When He opens it, they receive an abundance.

They all depend on you to give them food as they need it. When you supply it, they gather it. You open your hand to feed them, and they are richly satisfied. Psalm 104:27-28

    Praise The Lord.

Let All That I Am Praise the Lord

After reflecting on the beauty and order of creation, the Psalmist couldn’t remain silent. Praise erupts. He committed every part of himself to the worship of the Lord.

I will sing to the Lord as long as I live. I will praise my God to my last breath! May all my thoughts be pleasing to him, for I rejoice in the Lord. Psalm 104:33-34

Developing a lifestyle of praise requires intentionality. Life often pushes us into busyness filled with all sorts of demands. The antidote: slow down and observe the artistry of God’s creation.

Our praise deepens when we recognize God not only as Creator but also as our Sustainer. He remains actively involved in His creation. His presence supports our lives moment by moment.

Life Application: Praise the Lord and Live with Your Eyes Open to God’s Glory

Psalm 104 invites us to live with awakened perception. See God’s hand in the world around us and respond to it with gratitude and trust. Follow these practical ways to apply this Psalm.

    • Practice Daily Praise. Begin or end each day by naming three things in creation that remind you of God’s goodness. A sunrise, a breeze, a field, a bird, a river, etc.
    • Replace Anxiety with Trust. When worry rises, remember that the God who feeds sparrows and clothes flowers also watches over you.
    • Spend Intentional Time Outdoors. Take walks, sit on a porch, visit a park, or garden. Let creation become a living testimony of God’s wisdom and care.
    • Worship with Your Whole Being. The Psalmist says, “Let all that I am praise the Lord.” Praise Him with your voice, your attitude, and your obedience. Let praising God shape your identity.
    • Remember God’s Sustaining Power. Consciously ask Him each morning to sustain your work, your family, your responsibilities, and your spiritual growth.

Lord, thank you for reminding us that every part of creation sings your praise. Lord, let all that I am, heart, mind, soul, and strength, praise you for your unwavering love and faithfulness.
