How to Keep Our Hearts with All Diligence? - Raising Zion

Diligence is necessary for everything in life. Anything we need to get done at Home, in Office, in Church, and in Relationships all require careful and persistent effort.

King Solomon reminds us to keep our hearts with all diligence because out of it comes the issues of life.

Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.

Proverbs 4:23

Where do we need diligence?

1. We need to be diligent in earthly business (Proverbs 22:29).

2. We need to be diligent in our Father’s business (Luke 2:49). We need to care about God’s flocks (Proverbs 27:23)

Why and how to keep our hearts with all diligence?

1. No root of bitterness should grow in our hearts (Hebrews 12:15). Desiring the holiness of God and walking in obedience will keep us pure.

2. Preserve your peace by looking for the promise about habitational truths (2 Peter 3:13, 14) to be found spotless and blameless in His coming.

3. So we do not forget God’s word and fall away (Deuteronomy 4:9). Keep teaching them, so you don’t forget.

4. To rule over sin and evil natures that attack us (Romans 12:8)(Proverbs 12:24)

5. Growing hope (Hebrews 6:11) (Philippians 3:14)

6. Above all, to love God with all you are. (Joshua 22:5) (Deuteronomy 11:13)

7. To seek good to reap in blessing (Proverbs 11:27)(Galatians 6:9)

The heart of the problem is the problem of the heart.

Our heart is prone to desiring the old life when exposed to it constantly. The new life in Christ sets its affections on things above and not on the things of the heart.

Let’s dig out every evil way with the sword of His Word and flush out every filth with the power of His anointing. Maranatha, Praise God, and Amen.

Do Christian Values Work in What We Call the "Real World"?

In his classic text, The Contemplative Pastor, Eugene Peterson wrote:As a pastor, I don’t like being viewed as nice but insignificant. I bristle when a high-energy executive leaves the place of worship with the comment, ‘This was wonderful, Pastor, but now we have to get back to the real world, don’t we?’ I had thought we were in the most-real world, the world revealed as God’s, a world believed to be invaded by God’s grace and turning on the pivot of Christ’s crucifixion and resurrection.
