Hope Isn't a Feeling, It's a Lifeline

Names matter.
When it came time to name my counseling practice, I kept coming back to one word: hope.
Not because life is always easy. (If you've been alive for more than five minutes, you know that's not true.)
I chose Redeemed Hope because hope is one of the greatest gifts we have as believers. Through Jesus, we are redeemed, and because we are redeemed, there is always hope for tomorrow, even when today feels messy.
Let's be honest. Sometimes life feels like you're carrying around a backpack full of worries, disappointments, relationship struggles, unanswered prayers, and that awkward thing you said three years ago that still pops into your mind at 2 a.m.
We all go through difficult seasons.
The good news? God never intended for us to navigate them alone.
He has given us practical tools to help us live well on this side of heaven:
Prayer helps us stay connected to Him.
Forgiveness frees us from carrying things that weigh us down.
The Holy Spirit comforts, guides, and strengthens us.
Scripture gives us wisdom when our emotions are louder than the truth.
Inner healing prayer can help uncover old wounds that may be affecting us more than we realize.
These aren't just nice Christian ideas. They're real tools that help real people.
A few months ago, I was talking with a friend about her counseling experience. She told me that most sessions consisted of her sharing what was going on in her life while the therapist listened.
Now, being heard is important. Very important.
But when she finished telling me about her sessions, I found myself wondering, "Then what?"
No questions to help her dig deeper.
No practical suggestions.
No tools to try.
No homework.
No next steps.

Counseling should be more than a weekly emotional download.
A good counselor helps you understand what's happening beneath the surface, discover healthier ways forward, and gives you practical tools to use between sessions. Healing happens in the counseling room, but it also happens in the days between appointments when you're living real life.
And healing is a lot easier when you have hope.
That's one reason I created Hope Notes, a collection of short YouTube videos that are each less than two minutes long. Think of them as little doses of encouragement for your day. Each one pairs a common emotion with biblical wisdom and a simple action step you can take right away.
Because sometimes you don't need a 45-minute sermon.
You need a two-minute reminder that God is still with you.
I also created counseling companion books to help bridge the gap between sessions. Growth doesn't only happen when you're sitting across from a counselor. Some of the most meaningful breakthroughs happen when you're reflecting, journaling, praying, and applying what you're learning throughout the week.
My heart is simple: to help people move from feeling stuck to finding hope, healing, and wholeness in Christ.
If you're looking for encouragement, check out the Hope Notes videos.
If you're ready to work through something deeper, I'd love to talk with you about counseling.
And if you're already on a healing journey, my counseling companion books can help you continue the work between sessions.
Because no matter what you're facing today, your story isn't over.

You are redeemed.
And where there is redemption, there is always hope.
