The Rich Supply from the Water of Life

The recent posts are on the living water flowing from God, culminating in the river of water of life from the throne of God and the Lamb in New Jerusalem.

Ephesians 4:15-16 says “holding to truth in love, we may grow up into Him in all things, who is the Head, Christ, out from whom all the Body, being joined together and being knit together through every joint of the rich supply and through the operation in the measure of each one part, causes the growth of the Body unto the building up of itself in love.”

These verses do not use the word water but they do include rich supply. This supply is the flow of living water. This supply is fully a matter of the eternal, divine life since it is for the growth of the Body of Christ and is in love.

Colossians 2:19 is a parallel. “The Head, out from whom all the Body, being richly supplied and knit together by means of the joints and sinews, grows with the growth of God.” This too does not have the word water but has the rich supply for the growth of the divine life in us. This rich supply comes to us in the flow of the Spirit.

Let us all hold to the Lord to receive this supply in our current environment that we may grow in life now unto New Jerusalem.
