How does God’s Word help us to make godly choices?

God’s Word is the truth. Jesus said the Word that I speak to you are Spirit and they are life (Luke 6). The Bible also says that Jesus is the Word of God and He is at the same time the Truth.

Now if the Word of God is the truth, then the truth in the Word of God will always help us to make good choices. Making good choices requires you to know the truth already. When you know the truth, it increases your chances of making godly choices.
