He Is Emmanuel, God is present during trouble - Raising Zion

he is emmanuel

A widow lived in her massive house for years. Her husband had passed away long time ago. Her children were married and off to another country.

She is a woman of God. The only one in her family who is saved and Spirit baptised. Her husband loved her, but loved alcohol more. Even though life was tough for her; seeing her family away from the Lord. She kept growing in her faith, closer to God.

Eventually, she started living alone. She cultivated a life of praise to God. Day and night praising God while working at home, and attended all in church. There were times when she would get sick, Christ would speak to her and comfort her. Other times she was physically weak or needed direction, God would send angels to send a message. She would literally see them as they delivered the message to her.

He is Emmanuel, God with us

Recently, two people came to her doorstep to sell carpets. She told them she did not need it. They started to emotionally manipulate her, saying that they hadn’t eaten for days. She felt compassionate and opened the gate to her yard. Requested them to sit while she got some food. When she returned, there were two other men who were by the door demanding 20K. She started to praise God immediately. Suddenly, the men had a change of heart and walked away.

She immediately locked the door and thanked God for saving her life. God had heard her cry and protected her from danger. These robbers were targeting homes with widows or people living alone. God rescued her, foiled the robbers plans.

God is faithful. Let’s stay faithful in praise and prayer to the Almighty God who created heavens and the earth. Jesus is coming soon.

“Leave thy fatherless children, I will preserve them alive; and let thy widows trust in me.”

‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭49:11‬ ‭

Praise God and Amen!

Do Christian Values Work in What We Call the "Real World"?

In his classic text, The Contemplative Pastor, Eugene Peterson wrote:As a pastor, I don’t like being viewed as nice but insignificant. I bristle when a high-energy executive leaves the place of worship with the comment, ‘This was wonderful, Pastor, but now we have to get back to the real world, don’t we?’ I had thought we were in the most-real world, the world revealed as God’s, a world believed to be invaded by God’s grace and turning on the pivot of Christ’s crucifixion and resurrection.
