Harming and then blaming you!
“You made me do this!” cries Cheater.
One of the many painful aspects of dealing with a cheater is how they frame their cheating abuse. Some of this cruel individuals will blame the victim while they harm them.
They might blame them for choosing to abandon them as if the faithful spouse had a say.
It is both confusing and extremely hurtful for the faithful spouse. Like the harm wasn’t enough, the cheater has to add to the harm with a twisted narrative making it harder for the faithful spouse to recover.
This is why having a solid friend or pastor is so helpful. Faithful spouses need a voice or two reminding them that they are in no way responsible for their cheater’s behavior. This sin is completely the cheater’s to own.
