God’s Blessings Belong To Those Who Trust Him
In Psalm 115, the psalmist declared that God’s blessings belong to those who put their trust in Him. Because He won’t let us down, let’s examine how we can trust Him in all our endeavors.
The Lord remembers us and will bless us. He will bless the people of Israel and bless the priests, the descendants of Aaron. He will bless those who fear the Lord, both great and lowly. Psalm 115:12-13
We see a twofold emphasis in that first sentence. The Lord remembers us, and He will bless us. Those words comfort anyone who has ever wondered if God sees them or even cares.
Life often brings moments when we feel overlooked, when our prayers echo in silence or troubles multiply without relief. Yet this psalm shatters those illusions because God remembers.

When Scripture says that God “remembers,” it never means He previously forgot. Instead, it means He acts according to His covenant promises. He keeps every word He has ever spoken.
- When Noah floated on the flood waters, “God remembered him.”
- While Hannah wept for a child, “God remembered her.”
- When Israel groaned under Egypt’s oppression, “God remembered His covenant.”
The Lord who remembered His people in the past still remembers His people today. He acts with purpose and compassion toward those who trust Him.
God’s remembrance brings blessings upon us, not neglect, but deliverance without delay. Keep in mind, though, God only obligated Himself to shower blessings on those who trust Him.

God’s Blessings Reach Every Believer
May the Lord richly bless both you and your children. Psalm 115:14
The psalmist repeated the word “bless” five times in the three verses we’ve read, emphasizing the Lord’s generous heart. God’s blessings reach across every category of His people.
He began with Israel, followed by the priests, then all who fear the Lord. That phrase, “all who fear the Lord,” extends God’s promises beyond position or lineage.
Reverence for God and not rank invites His favor. Those who fear the Lord walk in awe of His holiness. Trust His wisdom even when your understanding feels distant.
Honor the Word of the Lord even when the world mocks you. Your heart will attract God’s blessings. You can’t earn it; instead, you rest under the covering of His love.
Verse 14 expands the scope of God’s blessings to not only you but to your children as well. He doesn’t simply bless individuals; He multiplies His favor across families.
The faithfulness of one generation can set a spiritual trajectory for the next. When parents honor God, their children grow up surrounded by reminders of His grace.

The Blessing of the Creator
May you be blessed by the Lord, who made heaven and earth. Psalm 115:15
This verse anchors every promise in God’s creative authority. The psalmist pointed back to the ultimate source of all power. The Creator of the galaxies cares for every detail of our lives.
This truth establishes confidence. If God’s words that spoke the universe into existence declare blessings over you, who can overturn them? Therefore, His sustaining word will keep you today.
The heavens belong to the Lord, but he has given the earth to all humanity. Psalm 115:16
God retains full sovereignty while entrusting humanity with stewardship. He blesses not so we can hoard His gifts. We can cultivate the earth to reflect His glory in our every task.
God’s blessings always carry with them responsibility. The Lord’s generosity calls for our faithful management. How we use those provisions reveals how much we trust the Giver.
The psalmist continued by contrasting the living and the dead.
The dead cannot sing praises to the Lord, for they have gone into the silence of the grave. But we can praise the Lord both now and forever! Psalm 115:17–18:
This statement doesn’t deny eternal life but emphasizes the privilege of worshiping God while alive on earth. Every breath presents another opportunity to give Him glory.
Those who experience God’s blessings by putting their trust in Him cannot remain silent. Our gratitude will break forth in song. Praise becomes both our response and evidence of our faith.
When we praise God, we declare our hope doesn’t rest in circumstances but in His unchanging character. Therefore, this psalm ends where every believer’s heart should dwell, with praise.

Life Application: Living with God’s Blessings
- Recognize His Remembrance. When challenges arise, remind yourself and declare the following. “The Lord remembers me” and “God acts on behalf of those who trust Him.”
- Walk in Reverent Trust. God blesses those who fear Him so; replace anxiety with adoration. When you face uncertainty, remember that reverence opens the door to divine wisdom and favor.
- Bless the Next Generation. Pray blessings over your children and grandchildren. Model integrity, kindness, and gratitude. Let them see your faith expressed through obedience to the Lord.
- Steward His Gifts Faithfully. The Lord gave the earth to humanity. Use your resources, skills, and opportunities to reflect His glory.
- Praise with Purpose. Don’t wait for ideal conditions to worship Him. Each moment you spend praising God strengthens your soul and silences your fear.

Walking in Continual Praise
Psalm 115:12-18 invites us, His children, to live with gratitude and confidence. The Lord remembers, He blesses, and He reigns. Our creator holds power over every situation we face.
When life tempts you to doubt, recall this truth: God’s blessing doesn’t depend on your perfection. They depend totally on His promise. So, praise Him both now and forever!
Lord, thank you for remembering me. Your faithfulness never fails, and your blessings reach every area of my life. Help my actions reflect my gratitude, reverence, and joy to your name.
