Conformed to the Image of God’s Son

Jesus Christ created a new man during His time on the cross (Eph. 2:15). This new man is being renewed to match Christ who is “the image of the invisible God” (Col. 1:15). God’s goal in this is His expression through a corporate man full of Himself as life.

Romans 8:28 says, “we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.” What is the “good” toward which all things work? The answer is in verse 29, “because those whom He foreknew, He also predestinated to be conformed to the image of His Son.”

New JerusalemGod’s thought about “good” is not like our thoughts. His thought is that we all be conformed to the image of God’s Son, Jesus Christ. This conforming brings us to glory (v. 30) for the corporate expression of God in humanity.

This glory is displayed in a limited but increasing way in this age and will be manifested to the fullest extent in New Jerusalem.

An outstanding characteristic of New Jerusalem is that it has, and radiates, the glory of God (Rev. 21:11).
