An Idea for Mother’s Day
Go ahead and buy your mother (or wife) flowers for Mother’s Day. Help the kids make her breakfast. Give her a gushy card. She deserves it. After all, she’s a great mom who loves her children. And since she loves her children, give her a gift that she can use in loving her children.
One of the best things any parent can do for a child is pray . It’s a loving thing to lift their names before the throne of the One who loves them even more. And I’ve found something she could use to aid her in her prayer life.
Mon’s Prayer Journal: A Guide for Praying God’s Heart Over Your Children
Rachel Jones is someone I’ve known for many years. When I first met Rachel and her family, she was serving as the children’s director for The People’s Church, Franklin, Tennessee. Rachel is great with children. She raised two boys to love Jesus, and now she continues that role with her grandchildren. In her heart for children, she has created this wonderful journal for other mothers. Here is an excerpt from one of the readings:
Mom’s Prayer Journal includes 14 chapters like this. This is not a book to be read once; it’s a book you can regularly prayer through. And there’s no age limit in the prayers offered. Shouldn’t we pray for our adult children as well?
So here’s my recommendation for Mother’s Day. I hope you’ll grab a copy at Amazon and hand it to her on May 14th along with that homemade construction paper card. She’ll love both.
