3 important insights about saving souls for the glory of God - Raising GENERATION Zion
“What is my ministry? Look how so many are doing ministry and saving souls!” is common thinking among believers down the road of their Christian lives.
A critical understanding that all Christians must have is that ‘comparison‘ is a sin. When we compare, we are saying God does not care about me, only others. Drawing comparisons means we have lost our relationship with God, who created us with a purpose. We are declaring He is not true to His promise. Jesus died for all mankind. The believer must never forget that he is called into a high, heavenly and holy calling to fulfill God’s perfect will.
3 scriptures to remember when it comes to saving souls.
- The believer must live an exemplary lifestyle. Paul instructs Timothy to be an example by spending quality time praying and meditating on the word of God (1 Timothy 4:12-16). When we stay in God’s circle, those watching us may get saved.
- Wisdom and good understanding are critical. Writing to the Ephesians, Paul says to walk wisely and redeem the time because the days are evil. Who is wise? The one who wins souls (Proverbs 11:30). Receive the wisdom and power of God to be fishers of men.
- Listen to what Jesus says. When Peter spread out his fishing net, he caught nothing. When Jesus instructed him to spread it out at another place, he could not haul it in because he captured plenty (Luke 21:3-6).
We are nothing without Jesus. We can do nothing without Him.
Jesus is our example. He listened to the Word of God, and so should we.
He is our wisdom and understanding. We do what Jesus says. Jesus gave us the Holy Spirit so we can listen and move forward with His strength.
